7 NATURAL HANGOVER REMEDIES/CURES
January 1st 2008 02:22
1. Eat: Alkaline foods such as vegetables and fruit. This will help balance your body and relieve any nausea from acidic overload. Avoid very acidic foods and drinks like coffee and processed food.
2. Drink: Fruit juice: Fructose is a natural sugar that helps the body burn up alcohol. If you have a headache drink orange juice as hangover headaches are often from vitamin C deficiency (unless you’re a smoker then this can also be the cause). Drinking warm water and lemon juice when you first arise will help flush out the liver that’s currently doing overtime. Keep drinking filtered water throughout the day.
3. Sleep: Rest and sleep as much as possible as it will enable the body to use its available resources to process the alcohol.
4. Take: A multi vitamin when you eat. Commercial B vitamin drinks can sometimes help, but if you have access it’s better to go for something more natural like wheatgrass, spiralina or Vital Greens to pump nutrients back into your body.
5. Do: Some simple and slow stretches throughout the day to keep the blood flowing and flushing out toxins around your body and brain. Don’t move your head too fast or lean over and then stand up quickly!
6. Have: Some ginger if you feel nauseous. Make a cup of ginger tea by pouring boiling water over some fresh or powdered ginger. Add honey if you like.
7. Try: Some acupressure points around your temples and eyebrows to ease headaches. Use your fingertips to push around the top and bottom of your eyebrows until you find a sore spot, and then rub it gently in circular movements for about ten seconds. Then do the same around your temples. You should notice a difference straight away. This is great for headaches caused by smoking, smoky rooms or tension.

Best remedy I've found though is moderation.
Thoughtful (and no doubt helpful) post for those who can still focus on the screen at this time of the year.
Cheers
